Mr. A Ghaffar Variend, Vice President of WMO North America Chapter has arrived for one week's visit to Toronto, Canada Chicago, IL USA. Accompanying him was Mr. Qasim Lawai, Honorary General Secretary, Pakistan Memon Women Educational Society and Chairman, Education Committee WMO. Reception at Apni Havelly Restaurant on August 18, 2014 MAC hosts Dinner Reception in honor of visiting Vice President of World Memon Organization of North America Chapter and other dignitaries: Memon Association of Canada hosted Dinner Reception in honor of Mr. A. Ghaffar Variend visiting Vice President, World Memon Organization of North America Chapter, Mr. Qasim Lawai, General Secretary, Pakistan Memon Women Educational Society and Chairman, Education Committee, World Memon Organization and Mr. Tayyab K Moosani, General Secretary, Memon Association of Saudi Arabia MASA on August 18, 2014 at Apni Havelly Restaurant in the town of Mississauga, ON Canada.
Canada's Citizenship Judge Mr. Rafiq Rokerya, Association's founder members Mr. Vali M. Bhalagamwala and his wife Mrs. Parveen V. Bhalagamwala, Association's former president Mr. Ismail Mirza, executive committee members of the Association and other community members with their spouses had attended the program.
The President of the Association, Mr. Muhammad Amin Jangda and former president Mr. Ismail Mirza welcomed distinguished guests and paid tribute to them for their selfless services for the community and introduced guests to the audience. Then three distinguished guests spoke about mission and activities of their respective organizations in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Mr. Ghaffar Variend, Vice President, WMO North America Chapter spoke about future strategy of the Chapter including proposed convention of all Memon Associations of North America in a near future and establishment of proposed women wing in near future for women's role and mission in North America under the umbrella of North America Chapter.
All the three distinguished guests were awarded with memorable shields from the Association in appreciation of their long services for the community. Maghrib Salaat was performed with Jamaat at appropriate time at the place specially earmarked for prayer in the restaurant. After excellent dinner, the president and former president thanks the distinguished guests and all participants.
Meeting at Eid Milan and Annual Summer Picnic on August 17, 2014 Memon Association of Canada has organized Annual Summer Picnic and Eid Milan Program on Sunday August 17, 2014 in Huron Park in town of Mississauga, Ont. Canada. Members with their families had attended. Also in attendance were distinguished grests Mr. A. Ghaffar Variend, Vice President of WMO North America Chapter, Mr. Qasim Lawai, Hon. General Secretary, Pakistan Women Educational Society, Karachi and Chairman, Education Committee, WMO and Mr. Tayyab K Moosani, General Secretary, Memon Association of Saudi Arabia MASA. Other distinguished community members who were present on the occasion were Canada's Citizenship Judge Mr. Rafiq Rokerya and Association's founder members Mr. Vali Mohammad Bhalagamwala and his wife Mrs. Parveen Vali Bhalagamwala.
The members has enjoyed an excellent lunch comprising of BBQ, Biryani etc with appetizers and desert. Zohr Salaat was performed with Jamaat at proper time.
The event gave an excellent opportunity to present WMO official publication "Memon Alam" to Canada's Memon Jamaat officials, Association's founder members and other Canada high profile and prominent Memons. WMO's Vice President for North America Chapter Mr. A. Ghaffar Variend, who was also present in the event, presented copies of "Memon Alam" to various Memon dignitaries. Some indoor games were also organized in the park for children and adults. The event was enjoyed by all the familites, which lasted till 7.00 PM.
Meeting at a Restaurant on August 16, 2014 During these days, Mr. Tayyab K Moosani, General Secretary, Memon Association of Saudi Arabia MASA was also in Toronto, Canada. On this occasion, an informal get-together was organized to discuss matters of mutual interest, including overseas Memon Community. Mr. Qasim Abbas, Memon writer and reporter of Toronto, Canada also joined the above mentioned three Memon dignitaries in this informal get-together in a local restaurant of Toronto, Canada. They had exchange of information about Memon Community and their activities in North America and elsewhere including Saudi Arabia. They also has discussion on matters of mutual interest.

Memon Association of Canada, which is a community organization representating Memon Community members across Canada, had organized Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W.) celebration, get-together and dinner for its members on Saturday February 23, 2013 at Sub’hani Banquet Hall in Mississauga. A very large number of community members with their family and children from GTA and other áreas had atended this successful programme. The purpose of organizing this programme was to pay tribute to Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W.) and also to bring various community members from different locations on such festive occasion together to créate sense of religious celebrtion and atmosphere of community spirit, unity and brotherhood. The Chief Guest on this auspicious occasion was Honourable Consul General of Pakistan in Toronto Mr.Mohammad Nafees Zakaria. The Master of Ceremony for this programme was Miss Yusra Ameen Jangda, who performed her task very beautifully. The program started with recitation of Holy Quran by Qari Imtiaz Hussain. Then Mr. Nadeem Shah recited Naa’at. Syed Ahmed Amiruddin delivered lecture in English language on the subject of importance of Moulud-un-Nabi (S.A.W.), where he also talked on how world has been benefitted by the arrival of Holy Prophet (S.A.W.). Moulana Ibrahim Chishty talked on the subject of Virtue of Darood Shareef and also on the subject of Uswa-e-Hasana of Holy Prophet (S.A.W.). He also recited Hamd after the talk. A child Qasim Fahad recited Naa’at and then another small child of 4 years Mohammad Ibrahim recited Surah Al Fathiha. President of Memon Association of Canada, Mr. Ismail Mirza came on the stage and delivered his speech welcoming the Chief Guest Honorable Consul General of Pakistan in Toronto Mr. Mohammad Nafees Zakaria on this auspicious occasion of celebration Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W.) and thanked him for sparing his time to attend this program. He specifically mentioned role of Honorable Consul General in organizing Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W.) in Consulate office on 26 January 2013 – first time in history of Consulate – wherein he himself had lead Zuhr prayer and he himself has made Dua after the program. The President thanked all the members present for attending this program. He also thanked all Executive Committee members for their hard work in organizing this successful program. The President also welcomed in the program two distinguished guests. These were Mr. Mohammad Anis Noor, Hon. General Secretary of Memon Educational & Welfare Society, Mumbai, India as well as Hon. Editor of bilingual fortnightly “Memon Welfare”. The other guest was Dr. Amin A. Mohammad Gadit, Pakistan’s prominent Psychiatric, who has authored many books on psychiatric treatment, and presently he is Professor of Psychiatry in University of Toronto. He introduced both of them to the audience, and then requested them to come on the stage and address the audience. They came on the stage and gave information to the audience about their profession and activities. Then President announced the names and portfolios of Executive Committee members for the year 2013 and requested them to come on the stage and introduced them to the audience. Then he requested Chief Guest Honorable Consul General of Pakistan in Toronto Mr. Mohammad Nafees Zakaria to come on the stage and address the audience. The Chief Guest Honorable Consul General of Pakistan in Toronto Mr. Mohammad Nafees Zakaria, in his speech, paid rich tribute to Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) and he emphasized to follow life style and tradition of Holy Prophet (S.A.W.). He also advised that we Muslims should make daily practice of reciting Holy Quran and also should understand its meaning from the translation of Holy Quran and then should ponder over its Verses. He also emphasized on acquisition of religious as well as worldly education. He thanked the Association for giving him opportunity to participate in this auspicious program organized to pay tribute to Holy Prophet (S.A.W.). Toronto, Ont January 1, 2013 Memon Association of Canada hosts welcome reception in honor of new Consul General of Pakistan in Toronto Mr. Mohammad Nafees Zakaria (Report: Qasim Abbas, Toronto)
Memon Association of Canada hosted welcome reception in honor of new Consul General of Pakistan in Toronto Mr. Mohammad Nafees Zakaria on 1st January 2013 in Subhani Banquet Hall in Mississauga. The reception was attended by Memon Community members and their families. Mr. A. Ghaffar Variend, Honorary Advisor, Chicago Memon Association and host of Memon web site www.memonpoint.com also attended the reception. The program started with recitation of Holy Quran by Vice President Mr. Mohammad Amin Jangda, who had recited Surah Al- Asr, followed by its English translation by a Community Member and Jamaat Reporter Mr. Qasim Abbas. The Master of Ceremony was Executive Committee member Mr. Tarique Kasim. He requested President Mr. Ismail Mirza to come on the stage. With the clapping from audience, Mr. Ismail Mirza came on the stage and delivered his brief speech welcoming the Chief Guest Honorable Consul General of Pakistan in Toronto Mr. Mohammad Nafees Zakaria and thanked him for sparing his time to attend the reception in his honor. The Master of Ceremony Mr. Tariqe Kasim then invited Association’s founding President of the Association Mr. Yakoob Dawood, who also welcomed the Chief Guest. Then a founder member of the Association Mrs. Parveen Vali Bhalagamwala came on the stage and welcomed the Chief Gust and then she invited Chicago Memon Association’s Honorary Advisor Mr. A. Ghaffar Variend on the stage, who also welcomed the Chief Guest and thanked the Association for giving him opportunity to attend the reception. Then the President invited Chief Guest, Honorable Consul General of Pakistan in Toronto Mr. Mohammad Nafees Zakaria to come on the stage and address the audience. With the clapping from audience, the Chief Guest came on the stage and delivered his speech. He spoke on peace, harmony among mankind. He emphasized on bilateral relations between Canada and Pakistan in various fields. He thanked the Association for giving him opportunity to meet Community members. A Community member Mr. Qasim Abbas presented to the Chief Guest three publications namely latest issue of “Memon Alam”, official journal, publication of World Memon Organization, an English book “Rare speeches and pictures of Quaid-e-Azam” and an Urdu book “Junagadh – Ujre Dayaar ki Kahaani”. At the end, dinner was served and after dinner the President thanked the Chief Guest and Community members for attending the reception.

Memon Association of Canada's Eid-Al-Ad'ha get-together and dinner (Report: Qasim Abbas, Toronto, Canada)
Memon Association of Canada, which is a community organization representing Memon Community members across Canada, had organized Eid-Al-Ad'ha get-together and dinner for its members on Sunday November 04, 2012 at Candles Banquet & Convention Centre in Mississauga. A very large number of community members with their family and children from GTA and other areas had attended this successful program. The purpose of organizing this program was to bring various community members from different locations on such festive occasion together and to create sense and atmosphere of community spirit, unity and brotherhood. Community members started arriving at around 6-00 p.m. When it was 6-30 p.m., it was Salaat-ul-Eisha time. Azaan was called and then Salaat-ul-Eisha was performed Ba Jamaat in the Hall. Thus the Eisha Salaat was performed in time as per Quranic order: "Surely prayers are enjoined on believers at stated times" (4:103). The program started with recitation of Holy Quran. Now it was time to serve appetizer, which were served on each table and it was enjoyed by all concerned. Then Master of Ceremony Mr. Tarique Kasim, a member of Executive Committee invited the President of the Association Mr. Ismail Mirza to come on the stage. With the clapping from audience, Mr. Ismail Mirza came on the stage and welcomed all the guests, conveyed Eid Mubarak to them and thanked them for attending tonight's event to show the spirit of unity and brotherhood among community members on foreign soil. Then he requested community's most respected personality Mr. Yakub Dawood, the founder president of the Association to come on the stage as Chief Guest of tonight's program. With the clapping, the Chief Guest came on the stage and occupied his seat. Then the President requested him for an inaugural speech. Mr. Yakub Dawood addressed the audience. He conveyed to all community members best wishes of Eid and emphasized on the unity and brotherhood of the community. Then the President Mr. Ismail Mirza introduced Community's senior couple Mr. Vali M. Bhalagamwala and his wife Mrs. Parveen Vali Bhalagamwala, whom very recently prestigious awards were presented in Toronto City Hall by NGOs NICAS (Network for International Care & Services) and GSC (Global Social Connections). He read out the details of their services to the community in social, humanitarian and religious fields. He also mentioned that the couple has been among the founder members of the Association. Then he invited the couple on the stage. With clapping, they came on the stage. Then the President requested them to address the audience. Mr. Vali M. Bhalagamwala thanked the Association for the honor given to them and he emphasized on humanitarian and social services. Then Mrs. Parveen Vali Bhalagamwala also spoke on the occasion and she also emphasized on the importance of services to humanity in every field. Mrs. Parveen Vali Bhalagamwala then mentioned about a community member Mr. Qasim Abbas, who is acting as freelance reporter for the community since very long and she requested him to come on the stage. Now it was time for presenting plaques/shields to Mr. and Mrs. Vali M. Bhalagamwala and Mr. Qasim Abbas. An award in the shape of beautiful plaque/shield was presented to the couple mentioning their leadership, guidance and contribution to the Association and the community. Another award in the shape of beautiful plaque/shield was presented to Mr. Qasim Abbas for his dedicated contribution for spreading Association's and Memon community's message to global community. The awards were presented by Mr. Yakub Dawood, the founder president of the Association and the Chief Guest. The couple and Mr. Qasim Abbas thanked the Association and explained the importance of such services for the cause of the community and humanity In this get-together, one of the agenda was election of Executive Committee Members for the years 2013-2014. In all, 16 candidates were contesting for 14 posts. However, before the scheduled date, two candidates had withdrawn, therefore, remaining 14 candidates were declared as unopposed for 14 posts of Executive Committee Members. The announcement for this was made. Then Master of Ceremony Mr. Tarique Kasim mentioned all the names of new Executive Committee Members and introduced each member by calling them on the stage. Executive Committee Members for the years 2013-2014 are: Altaf Khandwala, Ali Choksi, Ali Shaukat, Faisal Motiwala, Fahd Iqbal, Hanif Qassim Dharwawalla, Ismail Mirza, Ikhlaq Memon, Junaid Saleem, Mohammad Ashfaq, Mohammad Ayoub Wali, Muhammad Amin Jangda, Muzammil Younus Kodwavi and Tarique Kasim. Now it was dinner time. It was announced that dinner will be served to seniors first and then to others. Separate places were allocated for ladies and gents. Dinner was served on self-help basis and it was enjoyed by all. All announcements were made in the event in Memoni and English languages At the end of dinner, President, Mr. Ismail Mirza came on the stage and thanked very much to all the participants that they have attended this wonderful and successful program in order to show community unity and brotherhood among themselves. He also thanked Executive Committee members and volunteers, whose tireless efforts made this great event successful. Thus this wonderful and successful program ended which was enjoyed by the community members in great spirit, joy and enthusiasm.

November 21, 2011 Memon Association of Canada’s Eid-Al-Adha get-together and dinner (Report by: Qasim Abbas, Toronto, Canada) Memon Asociación of Canada, which is a community organization representating Memon Community members across Canada, had organized Eid-Al-Ad’ha get-together and dinner for its members on November 20, 2011 at Maple Banquet Hall in Mississauga. The Eid get-together event was combined with Event Excellence to recognize and award the students of community members, who have achieved academic excellence in their school in previous year. A very large number of community members with their family and children from GTA and other áreas had atended this successful programme. The purpose of organizing this programme was to bring various community members from different locations on such festive occasion together and to créate sense and atmosphere of community spirit, unity and brotherhood.
Before start of the programme, Community members started arriving at around 6-00 p.m. When it was 6-30 p.m., it was Salaat-ul-Eisha time. Azaan was called and then Salaat-ul-Eisha was performed Ba Jamaat in the Hall. The Salaat was lead by community member Brother Mohammad Adil. Now it was time to serve appetizer, arrangement of which was made on self-help basis and it was enjoyed by all concerned. Then the programme started with recitation of Holy Quran by youngster Alamgir Khandwala, who had recited Verses from Surah Al Rahmaan. After recitation, community member Qasim Abbas announced that very recently, the younger brother of Association’s president Mr. Ismail Mirza, (late) Haji Abdul Rauf had passed away in India, and Quran Khwani was held at the residence of Mr. Ismail Mirza on Friday November 18, 2011. Since in tonight’s event, majority of community members are present here, we should make Dua-e-Maghfirat for the departed soul. He requested to all members to have completes silence and to recite Surah Al Faatehah once and Surah Ikhlaas thrice. Then he also recited these Surahs and made collective Dua-e-Maghfirat for the departed soul that may Allah rest in peace the departed soul, forgive him and give him highest status in Jannat-ul-Firdous, and give all his family members strength and Sabr-e-Jameel to sustain this irreparable loss. Aameen, Summa Aameen. After that the President Mr. Ismail Mirza came on the stage and welcomed all the guests, conveyed Eid Mubarak to them and thanked them for attending tonight’s event to show the spirit of unity and brotherhood among community members on foreign soil.
The Master of Ceremony of tonight’s event was Executive Committee member Mr. Tarique Kasim. He announced that now Certificates, Medals and Awards will be presented to students, who have excelled in their school in previous years according to criteria set by the Excellence Evaluation Committee and whose details have been received by the Committee prior to the event. He called the names of these students one by one, according to each category, and Certificates, Medals and Awards were presented to them by the President Mr. Ismail Mirza, other Executive Committee Members and by other distinguished community members. In all, 22 students had qualified for these achievements based on highest marks. After the Certificate, Medals and Award ceremony, various students showed their desire to speak on the occasion. The Master of Ceremony Mr. Tarique Kasim called these students and they expressed their thanks to Memon Association of Canada and most of these students gave credit for their excellent achievements to their parents and teacher, who were the spirit and encouragement behind their hard study and excellent achievement in study. A special Presidential Award was announced for the most distinguished student, who had achieved highest academic achievement among all qualified students. The Master of Ceremony Mr. Tarique Kasim announced his name and the name was of Ismail Ameen Jangda. He was presented with the special Presidential Award together with Certificate by the President Mr. Ismail Mirza.
Then the Master of Ceremony Mr. Tarique Kasim thanked members of Excellence Evaluation Committee and other volunteers, who had made their contribution to the task of evaluating the excellence of students and ranked them according to their individual performance. Now Vice President Mr. Mohammad Ameen Jangda came on the stage and introduced a York University graduate Muzammil Parkhani son of Mr. Ismail Mirza, President of the Association for his excellence in his field of study. Now it was dinner time. It was announced that dinner will be served to seniors first and then to others. Separate places were allocated for ladies and gents. Dinner was served on self-help basis and it was enjoyed by all.
At the event, Mr. Qasim Abbas presented to the President Mr. Ismail Mirza and Vice Presidnet Mr. Mohammad Ameen Jangda, 5 copies each of World Memon Organization’s official publication “Memon Alam” June and July 2011 issues, which were received from World Memon Organization, Pakistan Chapter. He explained the role of W.M.O. in Memon Community’s unity worldwide and liaison between W.M.O. and Memon organizations worldwide. A circular was distributed to all members there. The circular contained the information that Executive Committee plans to have Association’s own premises as Memon Jamaatkhana in view of expansion in the number of Memon Community members in Canada. Also there is a plan to establish a Charity Fund to meet unforeseen event and to assist deserving Community members as a when need arise. Also it was advised in the circular that being on foreign soil, the members must write their Will according to Canadian law since Islamic Shariyah Law re: Will is not acceptable in Canada. They also should have Joint Bank Account with their spouse instead of single account, since Joint Bank Account can cater the need in case of emergency. A paralegal practicener Mrs. Lubna Tahir, a non-Memon distinguished guest was also present in the event. The Master of Ceremony Mr. Tarique Kasim requested her to come on the stage to speak about Memons. With applause of clapping, she came on the stage and spoke about Memon Community she knew from her experience. She paid rich tribute to Memon community for its humanitarian services, education, business leadership and as a peace loving and religious community. It was like “Memon ki kahaani, ghair-Memon ki zabaani” (story of Memons by a non-Memon).
There were also three distinguished guests from Nasserpuria Memon Jamaat, Canada present in the event. They were Mr. Moledina Varvani, President, Mr. Saadik Aadmani, Vice President and Mr. Nadeem Salyani, Gen. Secretary. The President of the Association Mr. Ismail Mirza invited them on the stage and introduced them. They also spoke on the occasion and emphasized on the importance of unity, brotherhood and harmony between community members and between Memon organizations. All announcements were made in the event in Memoni and English languages. At the end of dinner, President, Mr. Ismail Mirza came on the stage and thanked very much to all the participants that they have attended this wonderful and successful programme in order to show community unity and brotherhood among themselves. He also thanked Executive Committee members and volunteers, whose tireless efforts had made this great event successful. Thus this wonderful and successful programme ended which was enjoyed by the community members in great spirit, joy and enthusiasm.

Memon Association of Canada’s Eid-ul-Fitr get-together and dinner (Report by: Qasim Abbas, Toronto, Canada) Memon Association of Canada, which is a community organization representing Memon Community members across Canada, had organized Eid-ul-Fitr get-together and dinner for its members on September 11, 2011 at Maple Banquet Hall in Mississauga. A very large number of community members with their family and children from GTA and other areas had attended this successful program. The purpose of organizing this programmed was to bring various community members from different locations on such festive occasion together and to create sense and atmosphere of community spirit and brotherhood. The program started with recitation of Holy Qur'an by youngster Mohammed Anas, who had recited Verses from Surah Al Qalam. After that, another adult member Mr. Muhammad Amin, Haafiz-e-Quran also recited Verses from Surah Al Hashr. Then youngsters Muhammad Aamir and Muhammad Asif recited Na’aat-e-Rasool (S.A.W.) in Urdu. After that Vice President of the Association, Mr. Muhammad Ameen Jangda welcomed all community members, wished them Eid Mubarak and thanked them for participating in this wonderful program. Then he invited President of Association, Mr. Ismail Mirza on the stage to address the gathering.
The President, Mr. Ismail Mirza welcomed all the participants, wished them Eid Mubarak and thanked them for attending the program, which he said, is sign of unity, brotherhood and community spirit since the Association's main aim and object is community unity. He informed the gathering that now Memon Business Council and Memon Professional Forum have already been formed under the umbrella of the Association. He also informed that shortly Youth Forum will also be formed. He further informed that our next gathering will be in November 2011 for the purpose of honoring community's students who have excelled in their last school examinations. The President then invited all the office bearers of the Association one by one on the stage and introduced each one to the gatherings.
Then Vice President, Mr. Muhammad Ameen Jangda thanked all the office bearers of the Association for their continued active roll in the affairs of the Association. He then announced that appetizer was ready and the members should avail these on help yourselves basis. He, at the appropriate time, announced that within few minutes, it will be the time of Salaat-ul-Maghreb and the arrangements were in the Hall for the Salaat-ul-Maghrib bil-Jamaàt. At appropriate time, Azaan was called by a community member and after that, Salaat-ul-Maghreb bil-Jamaàt was performed in the Hall. After Salaat-ul-Maghrib, Vice President, Mr. Muhammad Ameen Jangda requested General Secretary, Mr. Arif Memon to brief the members about formation and functioning of Memon Business Council and Memon Professional Forum. The General Secretary, Mr. Arif Memon came on the stage and informed the members that Memon Business Council and Memon Professional Forum have duly been formed under the umbrella of the Association. He requested members who have not become members of these two units, should become the members. Then he invited the President and Chairman of the Council and Forum respectively and all executive committee members of these two units on the stage and introduced them one by one to the members. Then both the President and Chairman of these two units outlined the aims and objects of the formation of the Council and the Forum and also informed the members that very soon formal constitutions will be prepared, web sites will be developed and the Directories of Members will also be prepared. They briefed the members about the progress made after the formation of the Council and the Forum. They also invited feedback, suggestions and advice from the members in this respect.
Then Vice President Mr. Muhammad Ameen Jangda invited a youngster Kadir Motiwala to moderate a program ``Open Session – Free Speech`` (a program ``Do not reprimand`` - in Memon Language ``Toakja Maa``), where it was announced that any one from the participants can come on the stage, on the basis of pre-registration already done, and express their views on matter of interest with decency and without any personal criticism to any one. Kadir Motiwala, beautifully moderated this program and he invited from the participants, one by one and each one presented according to his choice i.e. Recitation of Holy Qur'an, Naàt, Sufi Nazm, Ghazal, Speech etc. The participants were youngsters as well as adults.
A guest, Mr. Tayyab Moosani, General Secretary of Memon Association of Saudi Arabia was also present in the program. He also spoke on the occasion and briefed the members about the working of Memon Association of Saudi Arabia. Now it was dinner time. The Vice President, Mr. Muhammad Ameen Jangda announced that delicious dinner was ready and the members should help themselves. All the participants enjoyed the dinner. At the end of dinner, President, Mr. Ismail Mirza came on the stage and thanked very much to all the participants that they have attended this wonderful and successful program in order to show community unity. He announced that Association's next program of honoring community students who have excelled in last school examinations will be organized in November 2011 and the messages will be sent to them soon. Thus this wonderful and successful program ended, which was enjoyed by the community members in great spirit, joy and enthusiasm.

Al Hamdo Lillah, we as community got a tremendous
success to get together, and now we know each other better, and keep waiting
for the next gathering.It is a good sign for any community though it is not
enough. The executive Committee of MAC (Memon Association of Canada) is
working on different parallel ways to get integrate, and bring the community
on the main stream.
As a first phase, the MAC-EX Committee is suggesting to establish the following: 1 . Memon Business Council (MBC), and 2 . Memon Professional Forum (MPF). 1.Memon Business Council (MBC): The council consisting of Memon Business men/women/Group(s), to get together, find out more avenues for their businesses, represent the council to the main stream businesses, coordinate and network with different business councils on the MBC platform, promote their business, and business amongst community in General. Regardless of the type, size of the business, any memon doing business in Canada could be the member of that council. 2.Memon Professional Forum (MPF): The forum will consisting of the Memon professional, i.e. Engineers, Accountants, Doctors, Lawyers, Beauticians, Bankers, IT etc. The aim to get together of the professionals, share ideas, so, then can find the better ways to boost their capabilities, find better ways to work, etc.Any professional who is memon residing in Canada could be the member of this forum. Memon Association of Canada Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W.) program Sunday, February 20, 2011 ( Reported by : Qasim Abbas, Toronto, Canadá)
Memon Association of Canada had organized Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W.) program on Sunday 20 February 2011 in the evening at Maple Banquet Hall in the city of Toronto. More than 300 family members had attended the program, which was lasted till late night. The program included Qir’at, Na’at and Speech by community’s younger generation – large number of children and youngsters - girls and boys - who had participated in this program with interest, zeal and enthusiasm. To start the program, with the recitation of Holy Qur'an, Mr. Mohammed Amin Jangda, Vice President of MAC first of welcomed all the participants from Memon Community members living in Greater Toronto Area. He explained the value and importance of community spirit and periodical gathering of community members on such occasions. He mentioned that these types of gatherings are the platform to discuss and provide feedback in respect of community affairs and also for the unity and identity of Memon community overseas. He also emphasized that younger generation of community should also participate in these events and that is why today’s program is aimed at encouraging them to participate and show their talents. Then to pay rich tribute to Holy Prophet (S.A.W.), he recited from the Natia Kalaam of Hafiz Jalandhry. To start the first segment of the program formally, he invited from community youngsters, Miss Zuha Qasim to moderate the first segment of the program of Qir’at and Na’at. Zuha Qasim, as moderator, announced the names of each participate from community youngsters one by one and each one came on the stage and performed Qir’at and Na’at. She, very effectively, moderated this segment of the program. The audience appreciated the efforts of these community youngsters and encouraged each one with applause. Then Toronto’s one of prominent personality Mr. Nazimuddin Maqbool paid rich tribute to Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) by Natia Kalaam. After that, another Memon community member Mr. A. Rashid Memon came to stage and also presented Natia Kalaam. Now it was turn of President of MAC, Mr. Ismail Mirza. He came to stage and introduced MAC Committee members one by one, who were elected in last Eid Milan Dinner on Eid-al-Adha occasion in November 2010. He also invited all of them on stage so participants can know each one. He conveyed his thanks and appreciation to all committee members for their individual and collective efforts to organize such a beautiful program. At this point MAC Vice President Mr. Mohammed Amin Jangda came to the stage and announced that MAC committee members are seriously thinking to establish Memon Business Council and also Memon Business Forum for overall interest of community members. He explained that proposed Memon Business Council will comprise of Memon business community members while proposed Memon Business Forum will comprise of Memon professionals. Then it was second segment of the program of speech competition by community youngsters. The subject of the speech was “Love of Prophet (S.A.W.) is the root of Eemaan”. The competition was divided into two categories. Category “A” was youngsters from age 6 to 10 and Category “B” was from youngsters from ages 11 to 15. For speech competition, name of judges were announced and they came on the stage. They were: 1. Ms. Shameela Chinoy, Mr. Taufique Jaliawala and Mr. Anis Lodhikawala. For this segment of program of speech competition, the moderator was Miss Yusra Jangda. She came to the stage and called each participant from community youngsters from Category “A”. They came to the stage and presented their view point on the subject. Then came to the stage Category “B” participants. Judges were noting down their comments for each speech by the participants. Miss Yusra Jangda, as moderator, very beautifully and effectively moderated this segment of the program with her actions and eye to eye contacts. After the completion of speech by all participants, the moderator Miss Yusra Jangda thanks the judges for their task, which was not easy to judge each and every participant on various aspects and points. After this, MAC Vice President, Mr. Mohammed Amin Jangda announced that dinner was ready and based on table numbers, community members should serve themselves. Participants had enjoyed the dinner and while enjoying dinner, it was casual atmosphere and members were interacting with each other. After the dinner, judges came to the stage and announced the result of speech competition. The winners names were announced, as below: Category 'A': Category 'B':
Respective prizes were awarded to the above winners by committee members and judges. Also Certificates of Achievement were awarded to each participant in the program of Qir’at, Naat and speech in appreciation of their spirit and efforts. Also Certificates of achievement were awarded to following community members and others, whose efforts were appreciated and acknowledged by committee members for their cause and contribution to the Memon Community and for MAC:

Canada Reported by: Mohammad Ashfaq Canada Memon Association of Toronto Chapter Eid Milan program and Election for Directors was held on November 27, 2010. Approximately 400 hundred Memon families and children participated in the festivities. Following Directors were elected democratically for the 2 year term 2011 and 2012: Ali Choksi, Altaf Khandwala, Amin Jhangda, Arif Memon, Ayoub Wali, Aziz Zaveri, Fahad Iqbal, Faisal Motiwala, Iklaq Memon, Ismail Mirza, Junaid Saleem, Mohammad Ashfaq and Shauket Ali .
