November 8, 2012 ALL INDIA MEMON JAMAT FEDERATION (AIMJF) “MEMON PREMIER LEAGUE” (MPL) T20 Cricket Tournament in Colombo, Sri Lanka DEPUTATION OF “AIMJF + WMO IC CRICKET TEAM” FROM INDIA WMO – Central Board is organizing “Memon Premier League” T20 Cricket Tournament from 18/02/2013 to 23/02/2013 in Colombo, Sri Lanka in which 6 to 8 teams from various countries viz India, Pakistan, UAE, England, Sri Lanka, South Africa, North Africa & USA will participate. All matches will be played under the ICC rules applicable to the format of the cricket including the Points systems. AIMJF is successfully organizing “Memon Premier League” at National level in India since last 4 years in which 45 to 50 Teams from various states of India i.e. Saurashtra, North Gujrat, Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Karnataka etc including metro cities and remote villages are participating. WMO (India Chapter) has requested AIMJF to assist them with selection of Cricket Team from India and to depute the same to Colombo, Sri Lanka as “AIMJF – WMO IC Cricket Team”. Central Co-Ordination Committee (CCC) of AIMJF agreed with the request of WMO IC and it was decided to keep on hold yearly ‘MPL’ of AIMJF for this year only and allocate the efforts for selection of “AIMJF – WMO IC Cricket Team” from India and to depute the same to Colombo, Sri Lanka. On 31st August, 2012 a sum of Rs.65,000/- (Specific Donation of WMO Ladies Wing) was granted to Hawwabai Educational & Welfare Society (Madarsa Banatus Salehat), Lohara (Dist Akola) towards Ration Help @ Rs.1,000/- each to 65 Poor, Deserving Non Memon families of Lohara (Dist Akola). On 31st August, 2012 a sum of Rs.80,000/- (Specific Donation of WMO Ladies Wing) was granted to Memon Jamat, Banosa towards Ration Help @ Rs.1,000/- each to 80 Poor, Deserving Non Memon families of Banosa. On 11th September, 2012 a sum of Rs.1,50,000/- (Specific Donation) was disbursed Housing Help. (Member of NalaSopara Halai Memon Jamat, Nalasopara). On 24th September, 2012 a sum of Rs.1,50,000/- (Specific Donation) was disbursed towards Housing Help. (Member of Bhavnagar Halai Memon Jamat). On 28th September, 2012 a sum of Rs. 50,000/- (Specific Donation) was disbursed towards House Deposit Help.

......................................... WELFARE MEMON ORGANISATION (WMO) 9th BOM Meeting Report held on 30th Sep 2012 at Aurangabad. India
The meeting was started with the recital of Tilawat-e-Quran Sharif by Mr. Iqbal Hamid Memon, and thereafter was followed up with a prayer for the departed soul of Founder WMO Member Late Adam Noor. Next on the agenda was the confirmation of the minutes of the 8th BOM held on 18th July 2012. Life Member & Annual Member confirmed by the Board in this BOM Meeting. 17 Life Members & 7 Annual Members were confirmed.
Following Zakat amounts were approved for disbursement based on the respective Sub Committee recommendations
· Rehabilitation (Housing) : Rs 89,30,000/ (63 Applications of Allover India) · Women Upliftment : Rs 10,12,050/ (Allover India) o Rs. 1,38,500/, 21 Applications from Surendranagar (Sewing Machines) o Rs. 3,53,550/, 50 Applications from Ahmedabad (Sewing Machines) (Widow lady, Divorcee & Needy Lady) · Men’s Upliftment (Small Business help) : Rs 8,30,000 (Overall India), · Auto-Rickshaw : Rs 30,00,000 for 20 Auto Rickshaw (16-Aurangabad & 4-Navsari applications)
In addition the following payments were also approved: · Rs 5,20,000 was approved from the General Fund to establish the WMO Women Industrial Centre in for VASI, Mumbai · Rs 10,00,000 was approved to be paid as a refundable deposit (favor to Shamim Iqbal Virani) for the WMO to be established in Sewree, Mumbai. · Rs 1,45,000 was approved Ladies Wing for the Women Computer Training Centre, Akola. The Board also considered 3 proposals for establishment of housing schemes 1. Mehkar Memon Jamat presented a project for building 22 Houses – “WMO Residency”. The Jamat has already purchased a land for this purpose and the cost of construction of 22 housed would be INR 58,00,000/. 2. A Proposal was made by the Convenor of the Housing committee member from Aurangabad, Mr. Siddique Motiwala to proposed 110 houses in Aurangabad for Zakat eligible families. The Board accepted his proposed project and WMO will construct houses for poor & deserving families. 3. A proposal was made by the Housing Committee member, Mr. Farooque Shafi Chandiwala to give financial help for 33 poor & needy families from Surat & the Surat District in Gujarat. The Board accepted his proposal and Insha-allah we will help them. The board undertook to review and confirm these commitments after a detailed project proposal are submitted and the necessary planning/building approvals for the projects are obtained. WMO President - Majid Ranani thereafter spoke about the need to increase the Zakath collection from India and spoke of his Wish for One Day for India to become a net Donor and not a recipient of Zakath from WMO and as such urged the Members to commit more fully to serve the community under the umbrella of WMO.
Mr. Majid Ranani updated the Board on the
progress with regard to the opening of the New WMO IC office and in this regard
thanked to Mrs. Shamim Iqbal Virani for consenting to provide the premises Free
of any rental charges. The Board approved a capital expenditure to buy the
necessary furniture and equipment to carry out a smooth operation at the WMO
office. The board further approved a monthly overhead of INR 50,000 including
salary for 3 employees, tp, stationary, communication, travel etc. The board
requested the President to employ a qualified competent office Manager cum
Accountant at a salary of about INR 25-30,000/ to ensure the best use of made of
the WMO office. Mr. Shafi Bhai Mulani suggest that on the application of Financial Help for Housing, Men Upliftment, Women Upliftment and Others, if there is a signature of Convenor on its related application then that application will be accepted & Sanctioned. And also if there is a signature of President & Secretary of any Committee then that application will be accepted & Sanctioned. Mr Ashraf Satar Bha speaking thanked the WMO India Chapter for the wonderful work being carried out and congratulated the VP & ASG and the team for getting World Memon Organization active once again in India. He updated the members present of his discussions with the Chennai and Bangalore Memon Jamaths and their desire to join with the WMO to serve the community better. The BOM accept his suggestion to include a nominee each of Chennai and Bangalore to the BOM and allocate one seat of the Ladies Members to South India. VP Majid Ranani requested him to facilitate this process and thanked him for his efforts. Ashraf Bha also updated the members of a suggestion by Bangalore Jamat to set up a WMO Village in Bangalore area to facilitate immigration from North to South India in view of the security/safety issues for Muslims in some parts of North India. The BOM was in favor of this suggestion and will look into this once the new BOM Members from Chennai and Bangalore join the WMO President - Mr. Abdul Majid Ranani & Secretary – Mr. Shafi Aiyub Mulani suggested that India should be divided into 3 zones as Gujarat, Maharashtra & South because India is a very big Country so if it will divide into zones then the work will be distributed and quickly result will be there. The Board confirmed his suggestion.
Mr. Idris Yakub Kunda, Treasure of WMO and Mr. Asif Hingora, WMO Member were appointed to be the coordinators for this under the supervision of VP & ASG and requested to make arrangements to select the best possible team with representation from all over India. As Shafi bha Mulani said that Jamat is made for our Needs, but if we do not think only about Jamat, we also have to think about Whole Memon Community so that problem will be easily distributed and also quickly solved. Then after he said the new slogan as, "Memon Community is my Community". And we are thinking that this slogan spreads all over the world. This thought emerges from the World Memon Organisation and from that he (Shafi Aiyub Mulani) learned this thing and the position he is now today is only because of the World Memon Organisation. Mr. Shafi Aiyub Mulani gives special thanks to Mr. Siddique bha Motiwala & Family, Mrs. Maseela Maqsood Naviwala & Family for doing all the arrangements of the Meeting and for best hospitality. The Meeting commenced with recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Mr. Iqbal Memon Officer. Dr. Nasir Y Fulara stated that Mr Adam Noor Saheb was passed away on 19/07/2012 in Mumbai, Innalillahe Wainna Ilaihe Rajeun. He was Hon Gen Secretary of The Memon Educational & Welfare Society, Hon Editor of Memon Welfare (Fortnightly) and former Vice President of All India Memon Jamat Federation. He was affiliated and holding key position in various other social organizations / Institutions. He was precious asset of our community and had devoted his entire life for the welfare and upliftment of our community at large. Mr. Iqbal Memon Officer offered Fateha with Dua E Magferat that May Almighty ALLAH rest the departed soul in Jannatul Firdaus and grant Sabre Jamil to all the family members. Thereafter the Minutes of the last 64th Meeting of CCC were read and confirmed. Dr. Nasir Y. Fulara Saheb presented the summarize report of following activities of AIMJF from last meeting to this meeting i.e. from 11/07/2012 to 29/08/2012. 1) On 23rd July, 2012 a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- (Specific Donation) was disbursed to Memon Zanana Hospital, Upleta towards Donation.
2) On 23rd July, 2012 a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- (Specific Donation) was disbursed to M D Girls High School, Upleta towards Donation.
3) On 23rd July, 2012 a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- (Specific Donation) was disbursed to Pune Memon Organisation, Pune towards Donation.
4) On 24/07/2012 a sum of Rs.31,52,000/- (Specific Donation Rs.25,00,000/- + AIMJF General Fund Rs.6,52,000/-) was disbursed to 3152 poor, deserving families of Orissa, Saurashtra, Central Gujarat, South Gujarat, Chattisgarh, Maharashtra, Marathawada & Vidarbh towards Ramadhan Ration Help Kit @ Rs.1,000/- per kit.
5) On 26th July, 2012 a sum of Rs.25,000/- was disbursed to Memon Times towards AIMJF Publications / News / Advertisement Charges from July, 2012 to June, 2013.
6) On 1st August, 2012 a sum of Rs.12,000/- (Specific Donation) was disbursed to one Mumbai based beneficiary towards Financial Help.
7) On 2nd August, 2012 a sum of Rs.15,000/- (AIMJF General Fund) was disbursed to Upleta Memon Samachar, Upleta towards Advertisement Charges.
8) On 8th August, 2012 a sum of Rs.25,000/- (Specific Donation) was disbursed to Royal Education Society, Mumbai towards Donation.
9) On 11th August, 2012 a sum of Rs.2,00,000/- (AIMJF General Fund) was disbursed to Khamgaon Memon Jamat, Khamgaon towards Community Centre Help. Balance Rs.1,00,000/- would be granted on Inauguration of Jamatkhana.

Ø Following Housing Applications (For New Construction and Repairs) has been sanctioned from WMF – Housing Fund.
“International Memon Cricket Tournament” World Memon Premier League (WMPL) Dr Nasir Fulara saheb expressed his desire to organize International Memon Cricket Tournament in Mumbai and to invite Cricket Teams of our community from all over the world.
Members present highly appreciated the same and it was unanimously decided to organize the “World Memon Premier League” (WMPL) under the banner of All India Memon Jamat Federation and to select the best players from various Halai Memon Jamat Teams from India to participate in said tournament.
Mr Latif Munshi, Mr Asif Abbajumma, Mr Shehzad Zaveri and Mr Sameer Khandwani were appointed to form the committee lead the aforesaid tournament under the banner of AIMJF.

Members of all communities are taking advantage of said course irrespective of caste, creed and religion. This programme has met with excellent response at Parbhani, Aurangabad and Madras and they are functioning exceedingly well.
Matters with the permission of Chair Ø Dr Nasir Y Fulara stated that Census of our community in India is a dire requirement of present scenario which would help us to ascertain the needs of our community and also guide us towards the line of our working.
Dr Nasir Y Fulara further appointed Mr Shafi Rogatia for census survey of our community in India with the help of Halai Memon Jamat and also gave him Form of details required for Census Survey.
Mr Shafi Rogatia agreed with the same and assured that he will personally visit all Halai Memon Jamats and complete the task within the time frame of 4 to 5 months.
Members present noted and appreciated the same.
Ø Dr Nasir Y Fulara further stated that after the sad demise of Mr Kadar J Memon (Kevadia Colony) Dy Vice President (Central & South Gujarat Region), the said post is lying vacant.
He suggested to appoint Mr Siddik Nathani (Vapi) as a Dy Vice President of Central & South Gujarat Region of ‘All India Memon Jamat Federation’.
Members present unanimously appreciated and approved the same.
Mr Siddik Nathani thanked for his appointment as a Dy Vice President of Central & South Gujarat Region of ‘All India Memon Jamat Federation’ and assured that he will try his best to embark the social services for the Central & South Gujarat based poor, deserving people of our community at its best possible extent. As there were no other matters to be discussed, the meeting ended at 9.00 pm with a vote of thanks to the Hon’ble Chairman.

June 30, 2012 ALL INDIA MEMON JAMAT FEDERATION GET TOGETHER DINNER’ & LAUNCHING CEREMONY OF ‘MEMON TIMES’ (Fortnightly) The Get Together Dinner of “All India Memon Jamat Federation” (AIMJF) and Launching Ceremony of ‘Memon Times’ (Fortnightly) was held on Saturday, 30th June, 2012 at 7.30 pm & 9.00 pm at Jabir Hall, Islam Gymkhana, Marine Drive, Mumbai. Aforesaid both the Functions were attended by 150 members, including prominent members of community + Donors + Office Bearers of AIMJF from Mumbai. Dr. Nasir Y. Fulara Saheb (President – AIMJF) presided the meeting. Meeting was commenced with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Mr. Salim Dawood Agboatwala (Hon.Gen.Secretary – AIMJF). Mr. Iqbal Memon Officer (Vice President – AIMJF) delivered the Welcome address and greeted all the members present. He appreciated the efforts of AIMJF in alleviating poverty from the community in various fronts with transparency and accuracy. He stated that regular CCC meetings of AIMJF are being conducted and all the applications after survey by concern VP of AIMJF with its remarks are placed for discussion and immediate aids are being released to deserving applications. He further requested the members present to extend their whole heart support to AIMJF and to create ‘Baitul Maal Fund’ under AIMJF and to donate their funds to AIMJF for centralized charity channel so as to safeguard the duplications and misappropriation of funds. Dr. Nasir Y Fulara Saheb presented the detailed report of activities of AIMJF from last Get Together meeting till today (i.e. from 22/07/2011 to 30/06/2012) via Power Point Presentation as follows:-
He further thanked all the Office Bearers / Members / Donors for their various selfless efforts to achieve above activities for the misfortune strata of our community at large. Members present appreciated the Report presented by Dr. Nasir Fulara Saheb and assured their support through standing ovation. Other Office Bearers present were Mr Iqbal Memon Officer (VP), Mrs. Zaitun N. Fulara (Dy Sr VP), Mr. Salim Dawood Agboatwala (Hon Gen Secretary, Mr. Aziz A Sattar Machhiwala (Hon Jt Secretary), Mr Ebrahim Hasham Kolsawala (Hon Jt Secretary) Mr. Afzal Patel (VP), Mr. Kadar J Memon (Dy VP), Mr. Irfan Shabbir Master (Dy VP), Mr. Haji A Rehman Shivani (Dy VP). The meeting was ended at 9.30 pm with a vote of thanks by Mr. Aziz A Sattar Machhiwala. LAUNCHING CEREMONY OF ‘MEMON TIMES’ (Fortnightly) Thereafter the 1st issue of ‘Memon Times’ (Fortnightly) was launched by Dr.Nasir Y Fulara, Mr Yusuf Abrahani, Mr Afzal Patel, Mr Aziz Machhiwala, Mr Ebrahim Kolsawala, Mr Javed Juneja, Mr. Yakub Merchant, Mr. Shamsher Khan Pathan and various prominent dignitaries of community. Dr Nasir Y Fulara felicitated Mr. Abdul Rashid Hingwala with Shawl for coming-up with ‘Memon Times’ and also appreciated him for his selfless, dedicated efforts for making it our community paper. He also appreciated the quality and content of first edition of ‘Memon Times’ and expressed his best wishes and desire for ‘Memon Times’ to achieve the level & circulation of ‘Times of India’. Mr. Yusuf Abrahani (Ex MLA) thanked Mr. Abdul Rashid HIngwala and his team for coming-up with such a quality magazine and also appreciated his selfless efforts for such a big step. He stated that it has been observed that many magazine / papers are not able to survive due to various reasons but it seems that ‘Memon Times’ will last long because philanthropic members of community are leading it and moreover their intentions are crystal clear, transparent with sole intention to create awareness among the community for good. Mr. Shamsher Khan Pathan (Retd. ACP) thanked all the Board of Directors of ‘Memon Times’ viz Mr Abdul Rashid Hingwala, Dr Nasir Y Fulara, Mr Aziz Machhiwala, Mr Ebrahim H Kolsawala and Mr. M Shafi Niyama for their kind efforts and requested them to take utmost care with regard to regular and timely publication of ‘Memon Times’. He further expressed his whole hearted support to ‘Memon Times’ at any level including collection of advertisement, making subscribers etc. Mr. Yakub Merchant, Mr. Javed Juneja (Municipal Councilor) and various other dignitaries also expressed their gratitude for ‘Memon Times’ Mr. Aziz A Sattar Machhiwala thanked all the members present on-behalf of Board of Directors of ‘Memon Times’ and stated that ‘Memon Times’ is a community paper and will remain of the community, for the community and by the community only. We will not allow any trespassing but whoever is coming with the intention to benefit the community is whole heartedly welcomed by us and we will support such people who will support the community.
